OMG - Do I really need to have the AP Stylebook?

The short answer is yes. We will talk about getting to know the Stylebook before we move on to your writing issues in particular. You must know AP Style. You don't have to have it memorized but know what questions to ask and where to find the answer. 

What is AP Style?
Associated Press style provides guidelines for news writing. Many newspapers, magazines and public relations offices across the United States use AP style. Although some publications such as the New York Times have developed their own style guidelines, a basic knowledge of AP style is considered essential to those who want to work in print journalism.

How do I practice AP Style?
You should be looking for AP Style everywhere. It becomes fun (I swear) when you start to look for it in different places - and when you catch mistakes. Knowing AP makes your life as a writer and a PR person a lot easier.
